Doctrinal StatementScriptures - We believe that the 66 books that comprise the Holy Scripture have been inspired by God. That God the Holy Spirit moved men to record His Word and that He preserved His Word down through the generations. We believe God's Word is absolutely trustworthy and without error in the original documents. We also believe that the Scriptures are the final authority in matters of faith and life and instructions in righteousness. 2 Tim 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21 The Godhead - We believe that God exists eternally in three persons as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Although they have different roles, they are equal in all respects and are equally worthy of praise and adoration. Deut 6:4; Isa 45:5-7; 1 Cor 8:4 Creation - We believe that God created the heavens and the earth and all living beings in six 24 hour days as recorded in the Scripture. After God declared His creation to be very good He rested on the 7 day.We also believe that mankind was created in the image of God. Genesis 1; Exodus 20:11; John 1:1-3; Col 1:16-18 Salvation - We believe that mankind was created to have fellowship with God, and that this fellowship was broken by mankind as a result of sin or disobedience toward God. We believe that everyone is separated from God by sin and is in need of forgiveness. We believe that faith in the sacrifice, death and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ is the only means by which one can be saved from the penalty of their sin, which is eternal separation from God in a place of constant torment. Rom 3:20-24; 2 Cor 5:21; Is 53:5 Eternal Assurance - We believe that Jesus's death paid for sin in full. When a person places their faith in Jesus Christ, they are indwelt by the Holy Spirit and are forgiven of all their past, present and future sins. Believers are declared to be children of God and they are assured that their souls will be in the presence of Jesus Christ at the moment of their death and for all eternity. John 10:27-30; Heb 7:25 Ordinances - We believe that water baptism of believers and communion, the sharing of the Lord's Supper, are the only ordinances given to the church to identify being united to Jesus Christ through faith. Neither water baptism nor communion saves one from their sins. Mat 28:19; Luke 22:19-20; 1 Cor 11:23-26 The Blessed Hope - We believe that the next prophetic event involving the church is the bodily resurrection and translation of the church age saints. At the appointed time, Jesus Christ will gather the church, both those who are alive and those who rest in the grave, to Himself in the clouds and will reunite their resurrected bodies and their souls. This will happen before the 70th week of Daniel which is the 7 years of trouble that comes upon the earth. John 14:1-3; 1 Cor 15:51-52; 1 Thes 4:13-18; Titus 2:11-14 The Second Advent - We believe that Jesus Christ will return physically to the earth and establish His earthly kingdom after the 70th week of Daniel is complete. He will rule over the earth for 1000 years during which time Satan will be bound and placed in the abyss. After His 1000 year reign ends, all people who did not place their faith in God or in Jesus Christ will be judged for their sin at the Great White Throne judgment and assigned to an eternity in a place of constant torment. After this a new heaven and new earth will be created in which the faithful will dwell for all eternity.
